Occupational Therapist 

The Walnuts School is a successful all age (4 – 19) special school for pupils with autistic spectrum disorders or social communication difficulties.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist full-time or part-time (3 days) to join our dedicated team of staff. The contract will be fixed term for 1 year. Therapies are fully integrated into the school with therapists working closely with class staff and directly with classes. Experience of working with children and young people with a diagnosis of autism is essential. The ability to be flexible, innovative and reliable is highly desirable, as is a genuine empathy with children and young people.

The Walnuts School is a successful all age (4 – 19) specialist school for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties.

We require Level 2 teaching assistants preferably with Special Educational Needs or Special School experience, however training will be provided for the successful candidates.  Depending on the candidate, the role could either be in the Primary or Secondary phase.  Enthusiasm and the ability to be flexible and reliable are essential for these posts, as is a genuine empathy with children and young people. 

We are looking to fill a number of full-time roles. Posts are for 32.5 hours a week and 39 weeks a year.
