The Walnuts School is a specialist provision for children and young people with Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties and a Children’s Home.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient people to assist our pupils during lunchtimes and to help keep our dining room looking fresh and clean. The positions are available at our Lower School site at Hertford Place, Bletchley.

Experience and enthusiasm is a requirement for this post, as is a genuine empathy with children and young people.  The ability to be flexible, innovative and reliable is highly desirable.  The Walnuts School has a successful record of staff development and training including knowledge and understanding of autism for all staff.

CATERING ASSISTANT

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistant to join our friendly team at our Lower School site at Hertford Place, Bletchley.

Candidates will need to adhere to national guidelines on food hygiene and cleanliness and comply with health and safety regulations under the supervision of the Catering Manager. The successful candidate will be required to hold or undertake a Basic Food Hygiene course.

Working hours are 11am – 2pm Monday to Friday.

LEVEL 2 TEACHING ASSISTANTS REQUIRED

The Walnuts School is a successful all age (4 – 19) special school for pupils with autistic spectrum disorders.

We require Level 2 teaching assistants preferably with SEN or special school experience. Depending on the candidate, the role could either be in the Primary or Secondary phase. Enthusiasm and the ability to be flexible and reliable are essential for these posts, as is a genuine empathy with children and young people. Experience of working with children and young people with a diagnosis of autism is preferable but training will be provided.

We are looking to fill a number of full-time roles. Posts are for 32.5 hours a week and 39 weeks a year. Part-time positions will be considered.

MIDDLE LEADER REQUIRED FOR JANUARY OR APRIL 2019


The Walnuts School is a specialist provision for children and young people with Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties and a Children’s Home.

We require an inspiring middle leader or a current middle leader looking for a new opportunity to become one of our curriculum leaders, subject area English, Maths or PHSE for January or April 2019. The subject area is to be decided but candidates are asked to express their preference.

The post holder will initially be placed at our Lower School site in Bletchley (Reception to Year 4) and have full classroom responsibility leading a team of between two and four teaching assistants. They will also receive a TLR2a and SEN point 1 or 2 dependent on experience.
