The Walnuts School is a successful all age (4 – 19) specialist school for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties. 

 

We require a Level 3 teaching assistant preferably with Special Educational Needs or Special School experience, to join our behaviour and stress team at our Hazeley Campus. Enthusiasm and the ability to be flexible and reliable is essential for this posts, as is a genuine empathy with children and young people.  

 

This role will be 32.5 hours a week and 39 weeks a year.

SPECIALIST SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST

Pay scale: MK Grade H £34,788 - £38,813 pro rata, depending on experience (equivalent to NHS Band 6)

Permanent position, term time only, full time or part time would be considered, minimum of 3 days.

The Walnuts is an all age residential special school for 179 pupils from Foundation to Year 14. The Walnuts school supports children and young people with autism and complex needs with a range of language, communication and interaction difficulties, including language and phonological disorders. The Walnuts is part of the Aspire Federation with Slated Row, a school for children and young people with complex needs.

We are currently looking to recruit a passionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our existing therapy team, Occupational, Movement, Art, Play and Reiki Therapists. Therapies are fully integrated into the school with therapists working closely with class staff and directly with classes.

We look for people who have the creativity and enthusiasm needed to deliver the best outcomes for the children and young people we support. We offer staff a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing training to ensure everyone is provided with the best possible start to their employment.

We require Level 2 teaching assistants preferably with Special Educational Needs or Special School experience, however training will be provided for the successful candidates.  Depending on the candidate, the role could either be in the Primary or Secondary phase.  Enthusiasm and the ability to be flexible and reliable are essential for these posts, as is a genuine empathy with children and young people. 

We are looking to fill a number of full-time roles over the next few months. Posts are for 32.5 hours a week and 39 weeks a year.
